The Fresh Harvest Kitchen, a project of the Southern Rhode Island Conservation District (SRICD), is a federal and state licensed facility which can purchase and process all seafood.  Our mission is to operate a fully licensed commercial processing facility and marketplace to support the business growth of artisanal fishermen, small-scale farmers, and local food businesses, while educating the community about locally abundant and sustainable foods and how to prepare them. 

We are currently working directly with a variety of fishers and farmers to help get their products directly to the Rhode Island community through restaurants, our retail store and other seafood stores.  As a licensed processing facility, Fresh Harvest Kitchen can process, package, vacuum bag and freeze small quantities of product to help promote any value added product and RI fishery.

The Fresh Harvest Kitchen was established to educate the community about locally abundant and sustainable foods and how to prepare them.  SRICD and the Fresh Harvest Kitchen promote fishermen, farmers and new product-lines like Sea Robins by hosting advertised pop-up events where chefs feature their latest and greatest recipes using RI harvested seafood and farm products.
